Joanna is a world traveler, professional photographer, and humanitarian.   

An avid traveler, she has set foot on every continent, and traveled to over 50 countries.  While visiting communities in Africa, South America, and Asia, she witnessed the profound humanity of the individuals she met along the way,  and the impact of entrenched poverty on human potential, especially for women and children. 

Her work with microfinance programs and other NGOs in Tanzania and Kenya drew the attention of Water4Life Ministry founder, Rudy Shaeffer in 2010. Inviting Joanna to  learn more about his mission to deliver water filters to the corners of the earth, she enthusiastically signed on to become a Water4Life ambassador. Over the last 10 years she has organized and led trips to Cambodia, Guatemala, Kenya and elsewhere. In addition, she is a major fundraiser and donor to Water4Life.  

Taking her commitment to making clean, safe water accessible to all, she founded GiveWater4Life in 2020 with a goal of increasing the number of water filters distributed throughout the world, to improve health and save lives. 

For more than a decade, Claire and her daughter, Luiza, have served as Water4Life Ambassadors, raising funds and delivering filters to international communities.

Joining Joanna on many international adventures, including humanitarian trips to Tanzania, Cambodia, and Guatemala, Claire is excited to bring her experience in both non-profit and for-profit organizations GiveWater4Life to expand access to safe, affordable, clean water around the globe.
